Beretta Gold Rush (.45LC)

Several companies have made replicas of the old Colt Lightning pump-action rifles, and now it seems that Beretta has joined the fray, with this purty little thing called the Gold Rush, in .45 Colt (.45 LC):
Npw I have to tell you, a number of Cowboy Action shooters I’ve spoken to have some reservations about the ruggedness of the Lightning design, so while this would be a nice little rifle to play with, I don’t know if it would hold up to the rigors of CAS competition—but I have to say, with the short throw of the action, you could get near-semi-auto cycling speed.
And then there’s the case hardening…
Anyway, the Gold Rush retails for a little over $1,200, which seems a little steep to me. But shooting these pump-action rifles is fun—there’s no other word for it—so I’ll put it on the “some day” list.
