In an earlier GGP, I mentioned that CZ had reintroduced the ZKM-611 (as the 611A). Well, they disintroduced (?) it soon afterwards, which means that we’re stuck with paying inflated prices for the older Brno 611, like this one.
This little rifle is so beautiful, it makes my teeth ache—and it’s exceptionally accurate, and reliable. Also, it’s beautiful.
Did I mention that it’s beautiful?
Let me tell you: I’ve shouldered hundreds of rifles in my time, hell, maybe thousands. I can’t think of one which has ever felt as natural as the Brno/CZ 611. It felt like a literal extension of my arm, and if ever a rifle screamed for me to buy it, that one did.
Only I was put off by the $450 price tag, and in my ignorance (I was powered by Jung & Foolisch engines in those days), I thought it was overpriced. Now it costs about $600 secondhand, and it’s even less affordable for me now than it was then.
I’ve since kicked myself so many times that I’m sick of kicking myself over this wonderful, beautiful little rifle.
I may just have to “settle” for its little brother in .22 LR, the Model 511, but it just won’t be quite the same.
Aaaargh.
