Browning Challenger (.22 LR)

Right before Browning came up with the Buckmark .22 pistol design, there was the Challenger. It had a more pronounced rake to its grip (closer to the Colt Woodsman design), but there was never any doubt about its quality. It came in two barrel lengths, the 5” and the 3”:
Typically, the Challenger commands a premium price over other .22 pistols, but still sells for less than $500—which, for a pistol of this quality, is a bargain, I think.
The later version, the Challenger II, looked more like its Buckmark successor:
For those with an appreciation for the finer things in life, the Challenger is one of those. I want one.
