Brolin Arms Pump (12ga)

Longtime readers will know that I’m no shotgunner—I like them, like the look of them, like what they do, etc. but I don’t hunt birds (just a personal thing, no biggie), so a shotgun for me would have to be purely a home defense weapon.
In fact, let me put it about as bluntly as I can:
Given the fact that any shotgun I bought would seldom if ever be fired (maybe once or twice a year), and be stored under the bed for most of its life, why should I spend a lot on a shotgun?
Why, in fact, should I spend any more than $120, which is what I saw the Brolin Arms 12ga pump-action shotgun selling for at the range yesterday?
Does anyone know something about the Brolin which would make me want to walk away from such a gun?
Just to complete the specs, the Brolin has a smooth bore and an 18” barrel. No, it can’t handle a choke (not that I’d ever use one), and maybe this is why it sells for $200 less than a Remington or a Winchester of the same dimensions.
Or maybe it’s really just as I suspect—a gun of so-so quality, but which will serve as an under-the-bed gun which will have 100 rounds (tops) fired through it during its entire lifetime.
Somebody enlighten me.
Update: Alert Reader Kirk comments: “I can’t think of anything in the world wrong with the Brolin Arms 12 ga, that is once you get past the MADE IN CHINA stamped on the barrel and receiver.”
Oh well… it was a nice idea while it lasted. No way I’ll buy a Chinese gun.
